As a prologue to this session the story goes:

“Annabel and I planned this shoot while she was abroad in Paris — a conversation of mood boards and emojis. Originally an extensive outdoor shoot, I decided to dial it back and capture something more intimate and focused indoors. Art 2 was a photographers playground: abundant natural light, tasteful props and creative versatility. Depending on the wardrobe, the tone alternated between lounging in a luxury chill-pad and posed fashion editorials. Annabel, being a dancer, drew my attention to her calculated but beautiful movements. Capturing her form in just the right amount of light and shadow to tell a visual narrative of motion and expression became my objective for the series.”

Art 2, one of our clients’ most favorite stages, features a full rustic wood floor, as well as a platform that runs the entire length of the studio’s south side – flush with the windows. There is a wood staircase leading up to the platforms left side. The flooring is real wood throughout, and stained to a nice dark tone. Art 2 also features the same great equipment that adorns all of our studios – black, white, and gray photo backdrops as well as three strobes along with light modifiers. Sol Tide Kids

Photographer Deja Kreutzberg has many passions and artistic pursuits. One of it is kids’ photography. Being mommy herself Deja knows how to capture precious moments of early parenthood that will be cherished for many years to come. This time the photographer had a session dedicated to a clothing line called “Sol Tide Kids” at FD. Our studio has seen all sorts of fashion, e-commerce and life sessions. Yet, truth be told, the stage Art 4 has never before hosted such cute and adorable models! So what is “Sol Tide Kids” ? And how was the experience of shooting in our studio?

“Sol Tide Kids is a unisex children’s clothing line inspired by the effortless California lifestyle. The collection consists of quality, comfortable basics with graphics that represent California’s magical beach towns, desert wild lands and adventurous mountaintops. Sol Tide embodies children’s fun loving spirits and makes dressing easy for mommy and baby! FD Photo Studio and [is] one of the most amazing spaces I have ever seen! We shot in the studio Art 4 which was flooded with natural light, painted in pure white and had everything a photographer could want or need at my fingertips.”

Stage Art 4, used for this shoot, is notorious for the high-key white industrial design. It has also been recently adorned with wooden floor section and a wall veneer as well as portable blinds, made of dark wood slats. The latest upgrade the stage received was a STAR illuminating across its shape! “I am a photographer based in Los Angeles by way of Massachusetts, Florida, Virginia and my home state, Tennessee. I first picked up a camera when I was 15 years old. It was my uncle’s camera and it literally changed my life. I knew in that instant, capturing moments in time would become a passion of mine. My interests in photography are editorial, fashion, portrait and sports. My style is simple and bold with a unique perspective. Whether it’s a lens choice, a lighting choice, or an angle choice, I always try and find something different within every photograph I take. A well constructed photograph will always tell a story. And I enjoy telling stories.”

Tamara Emile was very kind to share with us a few words about her experience in our studio:

“I came to shoot at Art 1 for a clean, minimalist fashion lookbook series with Hannah from Otto models. I fell in love with the ambient light bouncing off the white walls in the studio, which led me to only shoot in all natural light to get this look.

I loved every space in in the studio. The white steps, the backdrops, industrial windows, so much that I spent nearly four hours just shooting Hannah in various outfits that I styled. I had one make up artist, Christina to achieve the natural refreshing look, and an assistant Sharon to help with diffusers and reflectors to even out the lighting.

I enjoyed my time at FD Photo Studio and I definitely will come back for future shoots. This was by far one of my most favorite shoots.”

Stage A is a modest sized studio, great for a nice and clean high-key look. Since our Pro Stage I has an enormous space that can accommodate a large scale production needs for both photo and video, there is a multitude of great projects that already took place on that checkered floor. This time photographer Leo Deveney with the model Taylor Allard visited us in Pro I to create a short video along with clean sensual shots.
