Ian Spanier is an award-winning portrait photographer whose work has appeared in Esquire, ESPN, Netflix, LA Times, Los Angeles Magazine, The Food Network, and Marie Claire. He specializes in photographing celebrities, athletes, and executives, creating compelling portraits in a wide range of environments.

In this hands-on lecture and demonstration, Ian will share his approach to working on location — from assessing a space and finding the shot to directing your subject and creating beautiful, intentional light.

Shooting in our LA Loft 6 Studio, with a white cyc wall, Ian will work with model and actress Annika to demonstrate how to make the most of gorgeous natural light and how to combine it with artificial light for greater control, depth, and creativity. He'll share his tips and tricks for adapting quickly, solving problems, and creating professional results without overcomplicating your setup.

Then it's your turn. You'll photograph Annika yourself with Ian providing instruction, guidance, and real-time feedback throughout the shoot.
