About the shoot:

Nuri Shakoor is a photojournalist and commercial photographer/videographer based in New York City. Nuri’s work has been used by several national and local media outlets and print publications, including Train Magazine, Maxim, Fitness Trainer, and Dragondoor Publishing. For this shoot Nuri photographed his wife Alla for New York City Arts, Sports, and Entertainment, to be published as a series of fashion articles featuring various models and social media influencers promoting their brands.

My work has has been a form of self reflection into my own self esteem and insecurities. I project what I feel insure about onto my model, or even discuss with her of her own insecurities and try to highlight it and photograph it in a new light to adorn the body and it’s flaws.

Milahroy In Hill 2

About the shoot:

We used the studio for a music video for recording artist Milahroy for his new track “D.F.O.” which just premiered on the HBO show “The Flight Attendant”. The light wall studio ended up being the perfect space because it provided lots of variety and flexibility in visuals.

At the location:

Stage Hill 2 is one of our latest additions and the second blackout stage we currently offer. Painted all black from top to bottom with the matte color this stage absorbs the light making it easier to control reflections and have complete control of the light painting. Spacious, nicely conditioned and minimalistic, Hill 2 is perfect for video and photo shoots, big or small crew. About the talent:

My name is Bonnie, I am a contemporary dancer and Pilates instructor. I danced with Lauren Beirne Dance Works (LBDW) for five years and KGD Dance for four years, both modern dance companies based in Brooklyn. Lauren Berine from LBDW was also on set, helping with the shoot! I also freelanced for several other NYC based artists in my time here.

The stage:

NY Studio 3 also known as “exposed brick” studio is one of our brightest stages at New York campus. With additionally embellished exposed brick and concrete walls, this stage is perfect for a rustic, industrial look. The stage:

Studio Hill 1 has a few distinct features you will not find in any other stages. Facing the west side this stage gets lots of natural light in the afternoon and has amazing lighting conditions during the golden hour. Among included props are industrial wooden table with benches, two antique green chairs and white leather comfy chair. And the bed. The bed that comes with clean sheets (fees apply) and photogenic look, ready for always anticipated, the “bed scene” Besides, Hill 1 comes equipped with black, white and grey backdrops already installed and three strobe lights included in the hourly rate. Stage Hill 4 is one of our largest and brightest stages. Advantageously positioned with the windows facing west and north, this stage gets plenty of sift indirect sunlight in the first half of the day and lots of direct sunbeams in the second half. Hill 4 is furnished with several comfy and photogenic couches of cream and and golden/brown leather color. Pro I is a versatile daylight studio featuring big windows, a fire escape, a silver chaise, a modern bathtub, and a stunning overall urban motif. A red access wall is also included in this unique photo studio for rent. The fire escape provides a backdrop for one-of-a-kind city views, and the modern bathtub adds a touch of elegance to any shoot. The wood floors are complimented with a rolling artistic double-sided flat covered with shining sequins on one side and paper tubes on the other. There is also a large emerald textured walls corner and a moving stone-line platform for an additional set up.
Like all FD Photo Studio rentals, Pro I comes with a wide range of included equipment. About the stage:

Stage C was a choice of this creative collective for several reasons. Besides a tremendous space capacity perfect for both, large crews and small teams this stage provides a white CYC wall that is always freshly painted for each client. In addition to the prop count, a grass wall and a wood floor corned section installed for your creative exploration. My name is Samuel Kyei aka ( Hooliboy) and I’m from Ghana , West Africa but born and raised in NYC! Dancer , Choreographer , Creative Director , Artist , well you can basically classify me as a(n) all around creative! It all started through dancing since I was a kid and binge watching Michael Jackson more than I can eat that propelled me into the creative I am today! By God’s Grace, dance has opened doors for me to be able to do things I never would have imagined! From performing at Coachella, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon , Teyana Taylor, choreographing for Chris Brown and Davido and many more!
