These eyes. These amazing extraordinary eyes. What is known is the scientific field as central heterochromia for us is just a God’s miracle and gift of exotic beauty. Model Tyrie Rudolph, the possessor of this miracle has visited us in stage Art 1 with guidance of Maximilian Rivera and Roderick Hawthorne.

Stage Art 1, a long-time FD Photo Studio favorite, was used for this shoot. With the high-key white industrial design that FD is notorious for, Stage Art 1 is a clean setting that can be manipulated to fit all kinds of projects. This space has its windows facing South and West and gets beautiful direct light during the PM hours, and great open-shaded light in the morning.

Zofia & Zuzanna

Photographer Zuzanna Gerulewicz has brought her sister along with MUA, Lee Grubs to play a bit with some glitter make-up, materials and fog. What turned out to be is a fun and productive time! Zuzanna’s story is an adventure itself:

“As a European Native, I had been exposed to a slightly different culture than the one of United States. Born & raised in Warsaw, Poland, the land of rain and pickles, I spent my first 2 decades surrounded by old bricks, cold weather and best pierogi the world have ever tasted. Eventually, fueled by the need of change, I landed in California to pursue my education in photography. What interests me most are people and extraordinary mediocrity. In art, I value creativity, composition, mood and style. I strive for exploration of these aspects and their strong stand on my set. Photography was a reason for me to leave my motherland environment and I truly needed this change to come to realize how strong my roots, and my ethnical background really are. Ironically, the style of my work derives from that of my heritage which I left behind few years ago. I guess some things are just in your veins. My pictures are cloudy with a chance of pickles.”

Stage A is a modest sized studio, great for a nice and clean high-key look. A long time favorite of our clients, Stage A gets beautiful direct sunlight in the morning through north and east-facing windows, and beautifully soft indirect light as the day goes on. Equipped with all of the same great gear that’s included with all of our studios – strobes, light modifiers, radio trigger, and paper backdrops – it’s a wonderful place to be able to achieve different looks all in the same place. Art 2, one of our clients’ most favorite stages, features a full rustic wood floor, as well as a platform that runs the entire length of the studio’s south side – flush with the windows. There is a wood staircase leading up to the platforms left side. The flooring is real wood throughout, and stained to a nice dark tone. Art 2 also features the same great equipment that adorns all of our studios – black, white, and gray photo backdrops as well as three strobes along with light modifiers. “I had a fantastic time shooting at your location. I happened to be shooting some black/white ballet shots for a dancer, as well as some test shots for a leather/lace portrait concept to add to my own portfolio. I loved the big windows and always use natural light with my portrait work, so this was an incredible indoor location for me to work with.”

Fashion Shots by Robert Tate

Ever wondered why a photographer would use a colored backdrop, pay extra cash for it and spend more time setting it up instead of just editing it in the post? The answer is double-sided. Firstly, in many cases it actually takes more time to edit the background out in the post-production rather than have it placed already behind at the time of the shoot. Secondly, with the proper background lighting in place it is virtually impossible to imitate the play of soft shadows overlaying the backdrop with unique gradient and other subtleties. Photographer Robert Tate had a few backdrops in his arsenal. And he made a shot.

Stage C was a choice of this creative collective for several reasons. Besides a tremendous space capacity perfect for both, large crews and small teams this stage provides a white CYC wall that is always freshly painted for each client. In addition to the prop count, a grass wall and a wood floor corned section installed for your creative exploration. We do love photography in each and any of its flavor and genre. Although Los Angeles’s trend dictates the reign of fashion and e-commerce shoots in the industry, product shoot sessions are also frequent guests in our studio. The watches design company called SVSTEM directed by Vicky Moon has visited us in stage F to capture their new collection. A quick bio of the photographer:

“Architecture holds a very strong place in my heart– I’ve always been fascinated by the intricately built exteriors and the beautifully designed interiors. With my passion for photography and love for architecture, I assure the highest caliber of professionalism and satisfaction within my imagery. I live in Los Angeles, California with my pink scooter. I travel around town with my 4×5 in my backpack so please don’t hit me with your car. I am a graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA with a B.F.A. in Photography + Imaging.”

StageF was used for this team’s creative session. The studio is the smallest space we currently offer for our clients. Yet it is one of the most brightest stages with the tremendous amount of natural light coming from North West. It has gained a nickname – “light box” by some of our regulars and it truly fulfills it at any time of the day from dawn until dusk. This studio also features two section laminate floor of white and dark color for your creative needs. Paige Hathaway, the fitness Icon in FD

The fitness icon, Instagram star, personal trainer and just an inspiration human being, Paige Hathaway has brought her immense positive energy to our stage D for a shoot of a Youtube blog episode with a self-explanatory name “What To Wear.” Paige has gained a tremendous amount of spotlight due to her extraordinary fitness career. However, her life was not always all that jolly.

“The last two years of my life have taken me on the most amazing journey full of opportunities I could have never imagined. I never anticipated my passion and dedication to fitness would turn into a career or gain me so much notoriety. You know the fit and tone Paige you see in my social media posts, but now I want you to get to know the real me. I want you to understand how I started my fitness journey, how I got to where I am today and why I want to use my success to help others achieve their fitness goals. I’m 26 years old, a small town girl born and raised in Minnesota. After living several different places I am now living in the great southern state of Oklahoma. I always get asked how I got to where I am today. There was no strategically planned path I took to a career in fitness. It all started rather unexpectedly. In 2011 I was not the toned and fit woman I am today, as some of you know from my social media posts. I was very thin with hardly any muscle tone. It was then that I was approached by a trainer at the gym about proper health and nutrition. After speaking with the trainer I decided to step out of my comfort zone and enter my first bikini competition. Being unhealthy comes in all forms, whether it is being too thin or overweight. I desired to be a strong fit woman. Although I had grown up playing soccer and being active I had never made my health or fitness a priority. I had never lifted weights! I had never been stronger than the guy next to me at the gym. I didn’t consider myself an athlete. But over the next 4 months I would train harder than I ever had and push my body to limits I never knew I could. Finally competition day came; little did I know my life would never be the same. I placed 2nd at Ronnie Coleman Classic, the biggest NPC statewide competition in the United States. The show resulted in exposure I never could have anticipated. After the competition I felt accomplished and like I had truly changed myself. I had found a passion for fitness I never knew I had. From then on I was laser focused, continuing to educate myself on health and nutrition, as well as setting new fitness goals. I knew I wanted a career in the fitness industry. Unlike other industries, there was no manual or guide on how to do this, so all I could do was go off of what I knew. I knew that if you want something you have to do whatever it takes to make it happen. I attended every fitness show and expo I could and passed out flyers about myself to anyone in the industry who would take one. After much persistence I finally started to receive sponsorship from companies in the fitness industry. As I was trying to build a name for myself in fitness, I also saw the power and reach that social media had. I knew that it was a way I could reach others and could be a powerful tool to inspire other people by simply sharing who I am and my own fitness journey.I have truly been touched and humbled by people’s reaction to my social media and the career I have in the fitness industry. I am overwhelmed by people’s positive responses to my pictures and posts. In a matter of one year, I went from having a few hundred followers to over half a million on Instagram. I still can’t believe it! My experiences over the last few years have allowed me to find out what really matters to me. I love competing, modeling and working with companies like Shredz. However what I have I found most fulfilling is helping other people achieve their fitness goals. There is nothing more rewarding than sharing your own story and being told it helped empower someone else to achieve his or her goals. I have found a purpose: To help others see having a fit lifestyle doesn’t mean you have to completely give up things you love, change your entire life or achieve one certain look. I want to motivate others to be healthy, fit and confident by being an example of someone who makes her health a priority while still living a fun balanced life!”
