Steven Starr and Anna

Here are some amazing, high-powered images created by FD Studio regular Steven Starr. The photographer and his team used Stage B to create this diverse and expertly-lit set. A bit about Steven: “Steven Starr is an fashion, beauty, and editorial fashion photographer. He has 10 years of experience and an incredible passion for photography. Steven understands that delivering quality is often a result of a team effort. These photos were made in Stage B, our all black studio measuring in at around 850 square feet. The black walls and easily blocked off windows help to keep out unwanted light and reflections, giving the shooter full control over the studio lighting. Matt Robertson with Britten Newbill

Matt Robertson of Lakewood Creative was in making these atmospheric photos, and an accompanying video. They used the natural light in Stage D, an often overlooked beautiful space. Here are a few words about Matt: “I am the co-founder or Lakewood Creative, a small boutique my buddy and I started a few months back. Prior to the start of Lakewood did freelance work for all sorts of artists & companies. My work has taken me around the world which I am very grateful for. The shoot I did at FD Photo was with Singer/Songwriter Britten Newbill. A versatile huge space with beautiful natural light from the west-facing windows; it is a great place for shooting natural light, studio light, or a little bit of both. Dylan Rose with Erika Young

Photographer Dylan Rose and model Erika Young were in Pro Stage I making some enticing images. Dylan did a great job of incorporating the LA view into his photos, great use of the space! The space is comfortable and versatile, and even features a walk-out fire escape for our shooters to utilize. Sanaz Photography: Ballet

Photographer Sanaz Heydarkhan was in using Stage A to create some very elegant work with dancer Caroline Siler. Here is a little bit about Sanaz and her work:

“Sanaz Heydarkhan is a photographer who moved to Los Angeles from Sweden. She is a wedding and lifestyle photographer who travels the world for any photography destination. The love for ballet has also made Sanaz photograph ballet dancers and the art of ballet. Good light and fashion are the two important components in Sanaz’s photo sessions and she believes everyone can have amazing photographs and not only models! She wants her clients to have timeless photos and makes each shoot as memorable as possible. Sanaz photographs from the heart and loves connecting with her clients to a level that makes her clients comfortable in front of the camera. Her work is romantic and full of life. Here is a little bit about the talent for the seesion: “Caroline Siler is a professional ballerina who started her ballet training at age four with Santa Clarita Ballet. She took and completed every level examination of The Royal Academy of Dance curriculum, passing each with highest scores. Caroline Siler is currently doing freelance work with ballet companies like City of Angels Ballet and California Riverside Ballet to know more about Caroline visit her WEBSITE.”

Hailley Howard for Saint Grace

Hailley Howard was in making some great images for clothing line Saint Grace. The team used Stage B, our blacked-out studio, to shoot these awesome images. The model for the shoot, represented by Industry Model Group, was Thais M. O Martins. She can be reached HERE. These photos were for LA based vintage clothing line Saint Grace, to look at more of their products and learn about them, head over to their WEBSITE. FD Photo Studio’s black-out space, Stage B, was used for these clean and sexy images. Featuring black walls and ceilings, and the capability to block out all unwanted ambient light, Stage B offers a great place to be in full control of your studio lighting with no hassles. Pablo Settecase and Angeline Chow

Here are some great natural-light images of Angeline Chow by photographer Pablo Settecase. The duo used Stage C for the shoot, making use of the available light and the cyc wall. Settecase had this to say about his studio experience:

“For this shoot I wanted to utilize the studio setting and natural light as part of the image composition. Stage C was perfect for that. It’s a big, clean space that gave me lots of leg room for Angeline and I to create in. The CYC wall (cyclorama painted wall) was amazing too. Emails with FD and chatting on the website helped me figure out the best time to have the shoot so that I can have both harsh sunlight and that soft afternoon light. They also answered all my crazy questions quickly. FD’s new studio spaces are amazing and I’ll be coming back soon to check out their Pro Stage!”

The 2400 square foot studio boasts a white cyc wall, and large north-facing windows that can be blacked out. The stage also comes equipped with photo backdrop paper and studio lighting. Raffael Dickreuter with Melissa Riso

Raffael Dickreuter was at our Pro Stages shooting some elegant photos with Melissa Riso. These naturally lit images are beautiful, and a fine example of how to use the space to your advantage. Raffael Dickreuter is a designer and photographer based in Los Angeles, CA. He has a diverse professional background in film visual effects, design, web, advertising and photography. Take a look at his website HERE for more work and information. Melissa Riso is an LA based model and actress, with a pretty impressive resume. Connect with her via her WEBSITE. Pro Stage I was used for the shoot. This huge studio measures up at 2800 square feet and has large frameless north and west facing windows. The Pro Stages feature central A/C and are both equipped with large cyc walls, as well as seamless paper and all of the studio equipment you need. Margaux Moores-Tanvier: Social Media Allegories

Margaux Moores-Tanvier and her team used Stage B to create this series about our favorite social media platforms. Here are a few words from Margaux about herself and the shoot: “The shoot was an editorial series titled Social Media Allegories, featuring 7 different models impersonating 7 different social media websites: Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Youtube, Google +, Linkedin, and Instagram. It was a student project, which I directed and photographed. As for me, I am a political science student at UCLA with a passion for film and photography. I often organize shoots on my own time when I am not shooting for independent clients. This particular series was created for portfolio purposes as well as to potentially submit to online publishers interested in this type of content.” Margaux Moores-Tanvier was, of course, the photographer and director for the shoot. Shelby Woods was the production assistant.

Stage B is our black-out studio, featuring all black walls and ceiling as well as capabilities to block off the east-facing window, creating a space unencumbered by outside light. Karla Delgado for 310 Furor

Karla Delgado and here team were in shooting a lookbook for her fashion company 310 Furor. The team used Stage A to create this elegant look. She says, “Instead of the usual white paper background we went for a more simple modern studio loft look for the new catalog collection. Set was perfect, everything worked out 100%.”
