Derek Hui is a destination wedding and fashion photographer based out of Toronto, Canada. David Apeji for Fantastics Magazine

David Apeji was shooting in Pro Stage I, making this wonderful set for Fantastics Magazine. With his team and model, Nelita Villezon, they were able to create an excellent, quality editorial spread. Arizona based photographer David Apeji heads his company, Pixyst. “Pixyst is dedicated to providing clients with the highest quality of photographic services, ranging from portraiture and lifestyle photography to commercial photo shoots, with a commitment to capturing each moment, expression, or product with efficiency and excellence.” Take a look at more of his work on his WEBSITE, or via INSTAGRAM. Nelita Villezon is an agency represented model, accomplished athlete, and owner of LA based fitness apparel company Viebrant Athletics. You can find more information and connect with her HERE. Pro Stage I is one of FD’s larger studio’s, featuring large frameless north-facing windows with lots of beautiful natural light. The stage also features a large CYC wall, as well as studio paper backdrops, studio strobes, and the light modifiers you need to make beautiful images. Take a closer look at Pro Stage I HERE.

Khiari Bakar: Boots the Feline

Photographer and student Khiari Bakar was in with model Stephanie Preciado creating some beautiful photographs in Stage A. The duo made great use of the space, and the resulting photographs have a wonderful elegance and captivating feel.

Here are some details about Khiari and his shoot at FD: “My name is Khiari Bakar. I’m a creative visionary exploring film, photography and design. I’m currently a film student studying at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. I use photography to network and gain connections with people whom are passionate about film or who are in the industry.

I was visiting LA for spring break for this shoot; my very first studio shoot. Stephanie and I met on Instagram a few days prior, swapped around ideas and arranged a date to meet. We quickly matched each others rhythms and before long, my shutter was firing away. The studio transformed into our playground as we moved around furniture and found different props to add character to our shots. The assistant working at the time was very helpful and created an environment where I felt free to experiment and create.

I had a wonderful experience at your studio and will definitely be shooting there again!”

Stage A is our natural light studio, a favorite for it’s beautiful LA skyline view and natural high-key look. Stage A is around 850 square feet, and can accommodate most project needs. The studio is supplied with the same backdrop paper and studio lighting found in all of our spaces, making it a very versatile and adaptable creative platform. Samsung SmartCam Commercial

A portion of this Samsung SmartCam commercial was filmed at FD Photo Studio, using Pro Stage I. The scene featuring a view of the Los Angeles skyline at night was filmed at FD. Here is a link to the original video: https://youtu.be/eKHpN7KkOUg Pro Stage I is one of our larger stages, and it features giant windows facing north and west, as well as a huge CYC wall. There is also a selection of standard backdrop paper up in the studio, as well as the studio lights and modifiers for your photo needs. A bonus as the summer heat sets in, the Pro Stage location has central A/C. Take a look at this huge 2,800 square foot space HERE.

Ballet Zaida at FD

Here is a beautiful set from one of our regulars, Oliver Endahl, the photographer for Ballet Zaida. The group is always producing amazing work, and we are lucky to have them shooting at FD Photo Studios. The team used Pro Stage I for this session, and made some very graceful photos.

Ballet Zaida, along with photographer Endahl, are on a mission to educate the masses to the beauty, depth, and storytelling ballet has to offer. Much more amazing work can be seen on their INSTAGRAM, or through other social media HERE. Dancer Leila Drake was the model for this shoot!

Using Pro Stage I, the team was able to create some ambient wonderful images using the wealth of natural light, allowing them to capture the movement and action of ballet. The studio features huge west and north facing windows, a giant CYC wall, and of course all the background paper and studio lighting equipment featured in all of our studios. Stage B – FD’s Blackout Studio

Stage B has been completely blacked out! Some of our shooters were having issues with ambient light, so there was a need for a completely blacked out studio. We’ve painted the walls and ceilings all black, and the one bank of windows is easily blocked off, creating a light tight space where the photographer can call the shots. This unique studio is around 850 sq/ft, and is large enough to accommodate mid-sized shoots, great for anything requiring studio lighting. As with all of our studios, we provide standard color paper-backdrops as well as three strobe lights and several options for light modifiers. Vinicio Estrada with Samii Ryan

Vinicio Estrada made great use of Stage D, producing some beautiful images in a collaboration with model Samii Ryan. The duo created a fantastic high-key look with all of the natural light flooding into the studio. Here are some words about the photographer: “Vinicio Estrada is a freelance photographer out of Southern California who has specialized in fashion, editorial, commercial and event photography for more than 15 years. Vinicio has loved showing people the world through his lens and sharing it with them. The team used Stage D for this set, giving them a lot of space and some beautiful natural light to work with. Stage D is a giant, fantastic studio with frosted-glass windows facing south and west – making it wonderfully warm and bright during the last couple of hours of daylight. Kei Moreno with Male Model Troy

Kei Moreno was in Studio D making some admirably clean fashion images. The set has a very classic look, with simple soft lighting and elegant styling. Stage D was used for the shoot, a huge studio at the same rate as Stage A and B. The space features awesome warm light through opaque windows, a perfect place to harness golden hour. Volga Verdi Pop-up Shop at FD

FD Photo Studio is currently hosting their first pop-up shop, featuring the ultra-neon sleek designs of Volga Verdi! The USA made cotton tees boasting some awesome designs and bright colors can be see in the studio adorning the walls. What is Volga Verdi all about?
