The Shasta Airflyte: An American Icon

The Shasta Airflyte isn’t just any vintage camper—it’s an icon of American travel trailer design. First introduced in 1941, the Airflyte at studio Yukon 4 captures that throwback spirit with its distinctive green and white two-tone exterior, rounded “canned ham” profile, and chrome accents.

Inside, you’ll find birch plywood cabinet doors with a shellac finish, original-style jalousie windows, a sitting area that converts to sleeping space, and a dinette table surrounded by green vinyl seating. The interior lighting is working great. Floor tile, counter surfaces, and window draperies complete the period-correct atmosphere.

A Production Studio Built Around the Experience

With 16-foot ceilings, you can mount lights high enough to mimic natural daylight or go completely dark and shoot with strobe lights. The 1,860 square feet of open floor space means your crew has plenty of room to work.

The ceiling-mounted projector changes the game. The projector is pointed at the wall behind the RV and instantly making the scene more special. Project desert views for a Joshua Tree road trip vibe, mountain ranges for an adventure theme, or coastal highways for a California dreaming look. You can shoot a sunrise scene, switch to a starry night sky, finish with a golden hour backdrop… all without leaving the studio.

The 6×6 ft Neon Cube gives you another futuristic look to work with, so you can shoot different scenes within one studio.

The drive-in gate and private gated parking for two cars make it easy to bring in a car or motorcycle, large props, or bulky production equipment.

The makeup and changing room for a proper prep space.

Standard equipment comes included: three strobe lights, wireless trigger and receiver, light modifiers, three C-stands, black and white flat boards to bounce the light, and more.
