Behind the Scenes: OUTLIER “CROWN” Music Video at FD Photo Studio NY

Rock band OUTLIER filmed their “CROWN” music video at FD Photo Studio’s Metro location in Brooklyn, NY. The shoot shows why so many music video directors prefer locations with multiple studios instead of being stuck in just one space.

One Location, Four Different Worlds

Director Tom Flynn shot the whole video at FD Photo Studio Metro studios located in Brooklyn, NY. Director chose to rent Blackout Studio with RGB Tunnel, Infinity Room with RGB Ceiling, Rain Room with Black Cyc Wall, and a Studio with White Cyc Wall. The band and guest singer Joey Varela from VRSTY moved between studios to film different scenes—all in the same building. No travel time, no traffic, no hours wasted driving around busy streets of New York

Blackout Studio with RGB Tunnel and RGB Walls Metro 1

Cars can roll straight in through the 12-foot-wide gate, and the glossy black floor reflects everything, creating striking mirror effects and an infinity feel that makes the whole space come alive.

Metro 5 is a Brooklyn studio with a big black cyc wall and a full rain setup. The rain adds that moody, cinematic vibe right away, and it falls in clean, controlled patterns that look amazing with RGB lights. Great for emotional or dramatic music video shots.

Metro 6 is a blackout studio for rent in Brooklyn with a white corner cyc wall that gives that infinity background. This studio comes with three strobe lights, c-stands, light modifiers, and other necessary gear. The space also has AC and heating, a makeup station, and changing area.
