About the shoot:

The reason for my photo shoot was my preparation for my 42nd Birthday. I’m 42, mother of one, and I work a full time career that allows me to be the provider I am today for my family.

The stage:

Stage Art 1 was a choice of location for this session. Adorned with features like white grand piano and three step podium this stage is a tool of versatility, provider of great natural light, benchmark of industrial Downtown minimalistic design. This space has its windows facing South and West and gets beautiful direct light during the PM hours, and great open-shaded light in the morning. Using strobes? No worries, we include 3 strobe lights in the hourly rate along with black, white and grey background available. Color Blinded Project In Stage F

About the shoot:

Color Blinded is a project bored out of the mind of lead artist Eddie Jag in 2018. Excerpt from the artist explaining the project:”The initial concept came to me after hearing a saying meant to indicate a person as tolerant and sensitive to racial, cultural, and ethnic struggles. This statement might come in the form of something like this: ‘I’m colorblind; I don’t see color.’ Registering someone’s openness to all races, cultures, and ethnicities.However, that statement troubled me as it did not accurately reflect the qualities that will open someone’s mind. Exposure to other cultures and ethnicities different from yourself is vital to diminishing irrational human fears of those they do not understand. So instead of being ‘colorblind,’ I proposed that we be blinded-by-color instead. Surround yourself with all the beautiful colors in the spectrum of both nature and the human race. Diversity is beautiful and something we should cherish.So, for now, God has not bestowed too much power for change in my hands; I’m simply a photographer. All I can do to showcase my viewpoint is to create art and hope that it inspires others. So what is it about colors that make some so afraid?I present to you Color Blinded, an effort to smash through societal prejudices by showing the beauty in color diversity.I dedicate this project to my soon-to-be-born daughter, Josephine. May you grow up in a beautifully colored world.”

About the stage:

StageF was used for this team’s creative session. The studio is the smallest space we currently offer for our clients. Yet it is one of the most brightest stages with the tremendous amount of natural light coming from North West. It has gained a nickname – “light box” by some of our regulars and it truly fulfills it at any time of the day from dawn until dusk. This studio also features two section laminate floor of white and dark color for your creative needs. About the shoot:

Shonice Love started her career as a makeup artist back in 2013. Excited to embark on the new adventure, she had no idea all the roads that would lead to where she is today. Working with multiple photographers, she learned that there were specific images that were needed in her body of work. With her skill of attention to detail and a bit of courage, she picked up a camera in 2015. She decided it was time to start shooting her own images for her portfolio. With minimal experience from shooting images of herself for social media, she sought out more information on how to properly use her Canon Rebel T5i. The rest is history. Today, Shonice’s mission is to continue to learn more about photography and make all of her clients feel beautiful in their own skin. Capturing all her clients the way she sees them in real life. A work of Art! Her latest client is Artria who had her very first studio shoot at Fd Studios in the Flower Wall Room. Shonice created a safe and comfortable environment where Artria could be herself. My name is Khadijah Boles. I am the Founder, Creative Director, and Seamstress of KhaDiva Customs. KhaDiva Customs is an entity/service and product that provides purpose to one’s wardrobe. No matter if we’re giving a unique twist to an already existing outfit or creating quality styles for a total new outfit from scratch. We at KhaDiva Customs believe people’s personalities speak through their wardrobe. As we make clothing for people, we hope to bring them a sense of empowerment and confidence that not only shows in their outfits, but also in their aura. People are entitled to feel and be comfortable with the outfit they are wearing. This shoot is personal to me as this is My Maternity Shoot. This is my first pregnancy and wanted a very particular look. I believe my Photographer, Zay Monae, and KhaDiva Customs pulled through exquisitely. I’m extremely excited with the outcome and how beautifully the space created an ambiance.
