5 Valentine’s Day Photoshoot Ideas

It is that time of the year! Hearts and flowers are piercing their way out from stores’ shelves leaving you no chance but to remind about upcoming, the most amorous day of the year – the Valentine’s Day. As it approaches, many couples are interested to capture this day in the best way possible so it could cherish them in years to come later. Well, here at FD photo studio we know something about capturing the best way possible, that’s for sure. We like to call it “photographing”. And here are 5 best ideas for your Valentine’s Day photography session.

Drop the backdrop.

To create a lovely atmosphere we do not have to go far. We can just use tools that we have. Something as easy as piercing hearts or balloons or your significant other’s underwear to the backdrop and taking photos in front of it can be already memorable enough.

Rain ’em Confetti!

If I tell you that confetti makes any setup look like a celebration, chances are I’ll be preaching to the choir. Having little pink hearts or name tags, or cookies, poring down on you from the sky is the marvel you want to live in … and be captured meanwhile.

Decorative Lights

It is still a winter season so Xmas, New Year’s and Valentine’s Day led lights are in trend for this moment. Take it from your Christmas tree, hang it evenly behind the model, use a small F stop to blur out the background of the led little lights itself. Voila. You have done it!

Use Art 3

That is a rather specific tip, not applicable to any other studio other than FD. For stage Art 3 we have done a lot of work so the stage might look like a never-ending Valentine’s Day fairytale. The rose wall, the Bathtub, the golden chair will all aid in creating a loving and romantic context of your photos.

Just Have a Baby

…in front of the camera. It always works, it always will. Babies are cute. Chances are even ugly babies might be cuter than you. That’s my motto. When people ask my opinion on fashion, the first thing I look at when evaluating an article of clothing is the fit. Why? To me, the way you dress is an expression of self love and empowerment. For example, when you go on a job interview, you put on a crisp, clean, well-fitted business suit and in that moment you can conquer the world.

The suit wasn’t too tight, the pants weren’t too long, and you even wore a belt as an accessory (not a necessity). You know when you walk out of your home that “you’ve got this” and that feeling is priceless. I’m not saying your suit is made of magic, but, hey, if the shoe fits…”

Stage Hill 4 is one of our largest and brightest stages. Advantageously positioned with the windows facing west and north, this stage gets plenty of sift indirect sunlight in the first half of the day and lots of direct sunbeams in the second half. Hill 4 is furnished with several comfy and photogenic couches of cream and and golden/brown leather color. Stage Art 1 was a choice of location for this session. Adorned with features like white grand piano and three step podium this stage is a tool of versatility, provider of great natural light, benchmark of industrial Downtown minimalistic design. This space has its windows facing South and West and gets beautiful direct light during the PM hours, and great open-shaded light in the morning. Using strobes? Twin Princesses – twice as pretty!

Regardless of whether you are new to photography or have already achieved a couple of milestones and made a name for yourself; when you are shooting twins – you are shooting magic. Anjanette Stark has decided to shoot her girls Raeven and Tyler in stages Art 3 and Pro I. Despite her fairly fresh relationship with a photo camera, Anjanette has managed to come up with great images.

Whenever we need to capture a birthday or a milestone we simply reach out to FD Studio. When we make a reservation online we are always contacted quickly by a friendly person who confirms our appointment and greeted by a knowledgeable attendant at check in.

Having access to your facility has given me the opportunity to educate myself on how to properly use a DSLR and the importance of learning to utilize the light. Stage Art 4, used for this shoot, is notorious for the high-key white industrial design. It has also been recently adorned with wooden floor section and a wall veneer as well as portable blinds, made of dark wood slats. The latest upgrade the stage received was a nice looking cozy egg like chair and a STAR illuminating across its shape!
