Few words about photographer Lorenzo Belmonte:
“Eye for design, so I believe my photos and graphic design reflect my artist style. Photography isolates the fundamental artistic ability to see the extraordinary. It is through arrangements of light, angle, lense, film and a split second decision to capture the moment that make photographs an extremely personal expression.”

Stage Art 1 was a choice of location for this session. Adorned with features like white grand piano and three step podium this stage is a tool of versatility, provider of great natural light, benchmark of industrial Downtown minimalistic design.  This space has its windows facing South and West and gets beautiful direct light during the PM hours, and great open-shaded light in the morning. Using strobes? No worries, we include 3 strobe lights in the hourly rate along with black, white and grey background available. Take a look at Stage Art 1 HERE to see what equipment is included in the hourly rate, as well as its availability and pricing.

Twin Princesses – twice as pretty!

Twin-Princesses---twice-as-pretty!
Regardless of whether you are new to photography or have already achieved a couple of milestones and made a name for yourself; when you are shooting twins – you are shooting magic. Anjanette Stark has decided to shoot her girls Raeven and Tyler in stages Art 3 and Pro I. Despite her fairly fresh relationship with a photo camera, Anjanette has managed to come up with great images.

Photographer Anjanette Stark shared a story behind the photoshoot and her experience at FD:
“We are novices that appreciate the ease and professionalism of FD Studio. The face of photography has changed with everyone having a phone in their pocket the need for what can be considered a “professional” photographer is no longer an issue for me because I have you!
Whenever we need to capture a birthday or a milestone we simply reach out to FD Studio. When we make a reservation online we are always contacted quickly by a friendly person who confirms our appointment and greeted by a knowledgeable attendant at check in.
Having access to your facility has given me the opportunity to educate myself on how to properly use a DSLR and the importance of learning to utilize the light. I have so much to learn, but its easier now with experience gained in real time. We highly recommend FD Studio to all of our family and friends and look forward to working with you again SOON!
Attached are photos taken by me, a novice photographer with a Canon 60D of my girls Raeven and Tyler Stark. You make us look like professionals and we thank you!”

BLD&KIN new campaign

BLD&KIN-new-campaign
The season is almost over and it is time to shoot a new collection for your brand. You’ve already chosen models and a photographer for the session and now need to decide on the location. If you were as clever as BLD&KIN you would choose stage Art 1.
Why?
Because it has all you need – choice of backdrops, lots of space, and the most beautiful ambient light in town!
BLD&KIN new campaign -Studio Photography, stage Art1v2, shot at FD Photo Studio, rental stages, Photoshop, Photoshoot, photography services, photographer, modeling, Los Angeles, FD photo studio, fashion campaign, fashion brand, fashion, DTLA, clothing brand, blog, BLD&KIN, !done, !Art1v2
The story behind the brand:
“We’re an LA-based independent online menswear boutique. We design and manufacture all our very high quality garments in-house. Our customers are young upwardly-mobile men who love the comfort and style of streetwear, but are looking for something a little more tailored and grown up. With a versatile selection, FD studios provided us a perfect space for us to shoot our new campaign.
The Art 1 studio gave us a really clean looking background with large windows and views of the city. We also used the rooftop that had sweeping views of the city which looked amazing in our video. Both spaces really helped provide us an atmosphere that was urban, yet upscale.”

How to light TABLE TOPS for product photography with LensProToGo

How-to-light-TABLE-TOPS-for-product-photography-with-LensProToGo

Last time we explored the food photography technique using just the natural light. Today we will cover how to light up the table top for a any product photography, whether it is food or accessories, jewelry, etc. In the studio with “Cinematography Database” and “LensProToGo” we are about to explore and three-light setup, where two lights are shooting into overhead diffuser to give that shadowless soft light at the 90 degree angle. The third light is pointing from the top at the 45 degree angle to create a perfect sharp drop shadow. How to light TABLE TOPS for product photography with LensProToGo -Tutorial, tabletop lighting, table top light, Studio Photography, shot at FD Photo Studio, rental stages, product shots, Product Photography, Photoshop, Photoshoot, Photography blog, paid photography, modeling, Los Angeles, Lensprotogo.com, How To, gear, gallery, FD photo studio, fashion photographer, DTLA, blog This, classic table top setup is very easy to implement.  Let’s see how it is done.

The Setup

In this shot we are using a tripod Manfrotto 536 with a Kessler Pocket Jib on top. The camera is craned from the top, looking straight down. How to light TABLE TOPS for product photography with LensProToGo -Tutorial, tabletop lighting, table top light, Studio Photography, shot at FD Photo Studio, rental stages, product shots, Product Photography, Photoshop, Photoshoot, Photography blog, paid photography, modeling, Los Angeles, Lensprotogo.com, How To, gear, gallery, FD photo studio, fashion photographer, DTLA, blog How to light TABLE TOPS for product photography with LensProToGo -Tutorial, tabletop lighting, table top light, Studio Photography, shot at FD Photo Studio, rental stages, product shots, Product Photography, Photoshop, Photoshoot, Photography blog, paid photography, modeling, Los Angeles, Lensprotogo.com, How To, gear, gallery, FD photo studio, fashion photographer, DTLA, blog The first light that shoots up into diffusion is Fiilex Matrix.  The second light is Fiilex Q1000 doing exactly the same thing from the other angle. First, let’s turn off the fill lights shooting straight into a diffuser. How to light TABLE TOPS for product photography with LensProToGo -Tutorial, tabletop lighting, table top light, Studio Photography, shot at FD Photo Studio, rental stages, product shots, Product Photography, Photoshop, Photoshoot, Photography blog, paid photography, modeling, Los Angeles, Lensprotogo.com, How To, gear, gallery, FD photo studio, fashion photographer, DTLA, blog You can see how the shadows from the spot light are a lot darker now, as sharp. The whole image is a bit more contrasty than it was before. Now let’s see how the soft light look without the spot light. How to light TABLE TOPS for product photography with LensProToGo -Tutorial, tabletop lighting, table top light, Studio Photography, shot at FD Photo Studio, rental stages, product shots, Product Photography, Photoshop, Photoshoot, Photography blog, paid photography, modeling, Los Angeles, Lensprotogo.com, How To, gear, gallery, FD photo studio, fashion photographer, DTLA, blog This setup is giving us a really clean, pretty much shadowless image. For some it might already a perfect shot, needless of any addition. For those who want to take it a step further we are going to do some variations, playing with the color and the contrast.

Variations

Now we are going to have an orange key + blue fill light setup, thus imitating “the sun and the sky” pair setup. How to light TABLE TOPS for product photography with LensProToGo -Tutorial, tabletop lighting, table top light, Studio Photography, shot at FD Photo Studio, rental stages, product shots, Product Photography, Photoshop, Photoshoot, Photography blog, paid photography, modeling, Los Angeles, Lensprotogo.com, How To, gear, gallery, FD photo studio, fashion photographer, DTLA, blog To have this setup, we dial our two overhead shooting lights into 6000k light temperature for blue color. And we have a key light, which is the sun at 3200k temperature.
