Sexy Boudoir For Men By Marlena Elise

Photographer Marlena Elise’s new adventure called “Sexy Boudoir for Men” is definitely off to a good start. Shooting with models Pipo and Fabian against this Jungle Green Backdrop was a blast!

A quick excerpt from the shoot’s bio:

“I wanted to highlight my new adventure capturing Sexy Boudoir for Men. As it is apparent how over saturated it is to photograph female nudes, sexy portraits of women – and with all the recent balancing of the sexes stories and happening catch phrases like #GirlBoss and #GirlGaze why not women photograph sexy guys? For an industry that is still heavily male dominated in paying roles, why not have more women photograph, why are so many women are still heavily photographing domesticated roles like endless imagery of babies, children, fashion for women and weddings? Its so safe, it’s so boring. Regardless what is socially acceptable or not – I actually really enjoy photographing sexy men, and the location we shot in at FD Studios provided an incredibly elegant and stress-free space as all of my photo studio needs were provided for! I had a blast photographing Pipo and Fabian in red against this Jungle Green Backdrop. I used the large umbrella – Alien Bee’s Lights to help me capture the standing images of Pipo as he is a very tall model and dancer. We also got some great shots and tasteful nudes against the industrial window scene. In addition I had another model there (Fabian with the Tattoo’s). I was trading off about every 20 minutes, they both were great. I had Fabian work with my assistant for some slow moving videos as well. I seriously would not be able to pull this amazing shoot off in 2 hours with any other team or studio rental. I’d be more than happy to work with FD Studios anytime!”

Stage Hill 4 is one of our largest and brightest stages. Advantageously positioned with the windows facing west and north, this stage gets plenty of sift indirect sunlight in the first half of the day and lots of direct sunbeams in the second half. Hill 4 is furnished with several comfy and photogenic couches of cream and and golden/brown leather color. Party Big in Big Apple: NYC Grand Opening Creative Mixer!

Kicking off the New Year with a Grand Opening Party? Sounds like a plan to us! This year we decided to take our creative mixer vibe to New York city, FD Campus. As you may already know, we have 7 amazing studios there, that recently got fresh interiors. All 7 studios will open during the event, so don’t forget to grab your camera!!

Continuing series of quick and fun photographer surveys we checked with 4 Los Angeles photographers what was their creative set theme of the day.

Loretta Richert @lolagraphy_photo : Hi, I’m a dance and portrait photographer. I shoot mainly dancers and some yoga. This shoot is gonna be what all my shoots are like. I have two really amazing dancers showing up and it’s a collaboration when I shoot with the dancers, especially somebody so talented and good. One of them I shot with before.

Really, I kind of set the mood with the music that I see for the shoot, and then I let them warm up as I warm up shooting. I see how they’re moving, I see how I’m feeling, how I’m shooting, and we just kind of expand on it together. So, I have feedback and input but I’m also really open to seeing what shots we get and where we’re going. I did bring two really fun tutus, so I’m gonna shoot the two dancers in tutus and that’s all I have. That’s all I’ve got to start with.

Sasha @MoisNoMois : Today we’re shooting [@kdobraya], she’s a blogger from Moscow, a really good friend of mine. This is gonna be fun.

Zuzanna @the_zuz : What we’re shooting is purely a personal project. I found some of my old tear sheets in my house and I was just inspired by some of the shots. Since I had a free day I said, “Why not? Why not just do some personal work?”

Dee @trill_imagery : Today we’re gonna do some fashion editorial looks in the studio and maybe outdoors. I’m working with a great crew today and I can’t wait to see the outcome of the photos. You guys stay tuned.

The crew has chosen Stage A due to its size and affordability. Nevertheless, this Stage provides outstanding natural lighting conditions where there is a direct sunlight in the morning through north and east-facing windows, and beautifully soft indirect light as the day goes on. Equipped with all of the same great gear that’s included with all of our studios – strobes, light modifiers, radio trigger, and paper backdrops – it’s a wonderful place to be able to achieve different looks all in the same place. Stage Upgrade: HUUUGE Changes in Art 2 !

Art 2 – Wood and Light Stage Available for Photo and Video Rental in Los Angeles - FD Photo Studio

Keeping up with the “light wall trend” (see stages Hill 2, Pro 3, ) stage Art 2 now has gotten its own! Two light walls at the lower half of the stage are now completely redone with dark wood veneer (making the entire stage thematically coherent), and covered in rows and columns of your favorite fluorescent bulbs. Dimmable bulbs that is.

Besides, the walls, a cute yellow ceiling lights are now spread out across stages upper half, asking for romantic scenes to be captured.

All props like a brown lounge chair, golden palm leaves, and other awesome props are still there!

The stage is equipped with the same great gadgets available in all of our studios – black, white, and gray photo backdrops as well as three strobes along with light modifiers. Take a look at Art 2 on our website for availability as well as rates.

Stage UPGRADE: TWO MORE Light Walls in Hill 2!

Our blackout stage Hill2 seemed perfect from the beginning and hasn’t really gotten any updates since early 2018. This year we decided to redefine “perfect” in our terms and have added TWO MORE amazingly looking fluorescent bulb walls (now totaling to 4 light walls) on remaining bare sides of the stage.

Looking even more perfect now, isn’t it?

As with any our other stages a standard package of three basic backdrops and three lights is available within the stage already.

Roman Udalov And Blaine Provancha

Roman Udalov was working on a photo shoot when he met Blaine Provancha. “Blaine was only in town for a few days so we set up a quick test photo shoot. We only had one hour at the studio, but got some great shots.” – Roman shared with us 🙂

Few words about the Photographer:

“Born and raised in LA, but don’t mistake me for any ol’ Angeleno. I’ve lived all over the world, and i’ve found my way back. I usually have a camera in my hand, but sometimes a paintbrush as well. I enjoy making sets and then shooting them. I found my way into food photography about two years ago, which I love, because it doesn’t talk back. It’s given me an opportunity to shoot at some great events such as; XBOX One LA Launch, Dexter Season 8 Premiere Party, BET VIP PRE Party 2013 & 2014 and MGM Grand’s 90th Anniversary, as well as others. Painted all black and with shut off windows this stage preserves complete darkness for your photo and video projects. About this location:

StageF was used for this team’s creative session. The studio is the smallest space we currently offer for our clients. Yet it is one of the most brightest stages with the tremendous amount of natural light coming from North West. It has gained a nickname – “light box” by some of our regulars and it truly fulfills it at any time of the day from dawn until dusk. This studio also features two section laminate floor of white and dark color for your creative needs. As with any of our stages, Studio F comes with 3 strobe lights already included in the hourly rate and backdrop seamless paper installed. Take a closer look HERE.
