About the stage:

Chicago 7 is a beautiful corner brick photo studio with south-facing windows, wood floors and tons of natural light. It is located in East Garfield Park (nearest big intersection is Lake and Western) – 124 N Campbell Ave, Chicago, IL, 60612. All necessary equipment/amenites – 3x Flash Units (Strobes), Wireless Triggers, Fans, Sand Bags, Sound System (AUX), and Free Wifi are already included in the hourly rate. No Insurance / Permits is required to book.

This photoshoot was inspired by futuristic fashion. Kitty did the styling and makeup on themselves!

Stage Art 1 was a choice of location for this session. Adorned with features like white grand piano and three step podium this stage is a tool of versatility, provider of great natural light, benchmark of industrial Downtown minimalistic design. This space has its windows facing South and West and gets beautiful direct light during the PM hours, and great open-shaded light in the morning. Using strobes? No worries, we include 3 strobe lights in the hourly rate along with black, white and grey background available. The purpose of our shoot at FD Studios was to create promotional content.

At the location:

Stage Hill 2 is one of our latest additions and the second blackout stage we currently offer. Painted all black from top to bottom with the matte color this stage absorbs the light making it easier to control reflections and have complete control of the light painting. Spacious, nicely conditioned and minimalistic, Hill 2 is perfect for video and photo shoots, big or small crew. Hill 6 Studio is a sleek and elegant daylight studio with Moroccan shower, free-standing bathtub, moving prop wall and lots of day light. Adding up to our beautiful “gloss floor” studio 6 at Hill location is newly installed Moroccan clay textured shower corner with a deck and a standing shoot-through glass.

Nicole is a Los Angeles based filmmaker who has a passion for the genre of screendance. “Be still” is a short dance film in collaboration with French dancer Mélissa Guérin-Torres, Paris-based composer Arnaud Drieu and award-winning cinematographer Steven Fadellin.

Director’s note: It was refreshing to work with truly wonderful people and was almost a way to escape from the world for the day. “Be still” premiered at YoFiFest in Yonkers, NY in 2021.

ROOFTOP is located in our ART studios building and available every other day on the calendar. Encompassing the LA’s downtown scenery with highly energetic industrial sector this stage is perfect for picturing big city life. About the shoot and the artist:

Being an artist is all about envisioning what is not yet reality and making it a reality. I turn the regular into something extraordinary. Taking everyday people and making them the best versions of themselves. I took a few pictures of a regular guy for a Divine Masculine portrait session. These portraits are conducted to transform people into confident, masculine and sexy, an extension of Dudoir, which is a spin on boudoir for men. Here I have the subject standing in front of the X-Lights. I found that placing a subject into a dark room and him wearing dark clothing can really make them look more mysterious.”

“I also moved the subject to a wooden wall and a black wall to continue to have diversity in the backgrounds and pose expressions. I love booking with FD Studios as it is a useful tool when working with subjects who want to express a different side of themselves where I would not be able elsewhere.”

Christmas Eve Flashback!

My name is Ashley Maltez from Ashley Maltez Photography. As it was raining most of the week of Christmas this was the most perfect place to have our Christmas photos done. I also got the chance to photograph my daughter’s 10th birthday shoot. Her birthday was on New Years.

Besides a tremendous space capacity perfect for both, large crews and small teams this stage provides a white CYC wall that is always freshly painted for each client. In addition to the prop count, a grass wall and a wood floor corned section installed for your creative exploration.
