StageD is a large 1800 square foot studio. Featuring frosted south and west facing windows; Stage D is a golden-hour dream, getting beautiful direct light diffused through the translucent windows. This exciting addition allows photographers to have complete control over the lighting conditions, making it ideal for a wide range of creative projects. Whether you prefer to work with natural light or require a controlled environment, the blackout curtains offer flexibility and convenience. With the ability to block out external light sources, photographers can experiment with various lighting setups, achieve precise exposure, and create the desired mood for their shoots. Rent Pro II and explore the limitless possibilities that the combination of daylight and blackout curtains can bring to your photography. Pro Stage Shooters! We now have curtains installed on the window (west-facing) in Pro Stage II. The dark curtains enable our shooters to completely block off any ambient light in Pro Stage II, or you can open them partially or all the way to allow for as much natural light needed. Pro Stage II features an 18 foot cyclorama wall; standard black, white, and gray photo paper; and three studio strobes with the light modifiers of your choice. We also have central AC, a vanity mirror for hair and makeup, sound system, a changing area, and a small refrigerator. Swing and Hammock at FD

Have a project that needs a little more creative clout or even some movement? We are now offering a swing, as well as a hammock to rent at FD Photo Studio. The swing is a classic looking wooden seat on simple brown rope. The hammock is a chair/swing, made of woven rope. The swing or hammock can be used in Stage A and Stage D, and are available for you to use for $35 for up to 4 hours. Simply ask for the equipment while making your booking online, or when speaking to the staff to confirm your booking. Note that the max load of either item is 200lbs. Bianca Ryan is an American singer and songwriter, originally hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2006, Ryan was the winner of the first season of NBC’s America’s Got Talent. Since 2006, Bianca quickly began making a namer for herself, releasing her own albums, and even starting a career as an actress. New Studio! Stage F

We are proud to announce a new space at FD Photo Studio: Stage F! This studio features laminate flooring; the west end of the room sporting a high-key white, and the east end a nice light toned hardwood. The industrial white-framed windows line the north and west walls of the studio, giving you a direct view of the downtown Los Angeles skyline. The wall on the east end of the space is a clean white, giving you the possibility of different looks and a whole new ambiance all in one studio. Stage F is equipped with the same great features as all of our other stages – three studio strobes with any light modifiers appropriate for your project; as well as standard white, gray, and black photo backdrop paper. The new space also features our standard vanity station for hair and makeup, as well as a sound system and a small refrigerator. Cosplay: Marie Sturges

While in town for LA’s Anime Expo 2015, photographer Marie Sturges assembled a team to do a creative photo shoot at FD Photo Studio. The resulting images are exciting and energetic. Here is some information about Marie, and her session in Stage B: “My name is Marie Sturges, and I am a cosplay photographer from the San Francisco Bay Area. Jake and I were visiting Los Angeles for Anime Expo 2015 over the weekend, and since we were going to be in the area for some shoots, we decided to give FD Photo Studio a try. We knew that Studio B would be perfect for us, because we were wanting complete control over the lighting so that we could establish a dark and mysterious atmosphere. For the first part of our shoot, we focused on shooting Soni Aralynn as Silk, a super-heroine from Marvel’s Spider-Verse. Our second half of the shoot focused on a project inspired by the fan art of an Australian artist known as the Chamba (/thechamba.deviantart.com), which features a mashup between the Japanese television series Kamen Rider and Marvel’s Spider-Man. The costumes were worn by Jake and Yoshi (the costumes were designed and made by Jake). I was very satisfied with my shoot at FD Photo Studio and will definitely book another session with them the next time I am in LA.” Marie Sturges was the photographer for the session, link on Facebook or Instagram. The talent for the day included: Soni Aralynn, Jake Moore Cosplay, and Yoshi Sudarso. Stage B is our ‘blackout’ stage, featuring all black walls and ceiling, with capabilities to completely block off the windows to cut out any natural light and reduce reflections from white walls. This space has become a favorite for projects requiring all studio lighting, as well as video shoots where light control is a necessity. Stage B comes equipped with black, gray, and white photo paper, as well as the same great photo gear in all of our studios. After an amazing response from LA models and photographers I returned in June for one month and had the opportunity to work with over 25 models while collaborating with Garret Stone a Film Director & Cinematographer.
