Ragged Vagabond Clothing Video

Ragged Vagabond Clothing, an LA based fashion line, was working on their lookbook at FD, and they created this insightful video behind the scenes of the shoot, and it’s filled with a great background story about the company and it’s owner Angie Piccirillo. The shooting was done in Stage A, and they used the entire studio to create a narrative and several different looks. The lookbook can be found on the Ragged Vagabond WEBSITE. The photos were done by Ethan Ingram, connect with him HERE. Creative Direction and styling was provided by the brand’s mastermind, Angie Piccirillo. Paul LaMarche was responsible for makeup and hair. The production team on the shoot was Sierra Schepmann and Dustin Treinen. With a few props and some setup changes, the studio took on many different looks through the story told in the photo series. An Engagement at FD

D. Park Photography and couple Bao and Tony were in making some exciting and energetic engagement photos! The spirited series was inspired by Robin Thicke Blurred Lines. Orange County based photography team D. Park Photography has a beautiful website full of great wedding, engagement and family images. Take a look at their WEBSITE to see more! On makeup for the day was Tammi Luong of VinMaquillage. A bit about Two Bright Lights: Two Bright Lights is an online publishing and image sharing platform. Over 14,000 photographers use and upload images to Two Bright Lights. Collaborators can use Two Bright Lights to access images of their work for marketing purposes and to boost publicity by submitting to magazines and blogs. Quality imagery and editorial features helps bring in more business! The team used Stage A to make these delightful images. Stage A is beautifully lit during the day through huge north and east facing windows. Although we describe Stage A as our daylight studio, it does come with all the great studio equipment featured all of our stages, and is a great place for natural and artificially lit photography. Darrin Bourgeois with Alicia Diaz

Making great use of the space and atmosphere of Stage C, Darrin Bourgeois created these charming photographs with magnetic model Alicia Diaz. With some creative imagination, our studios offer a great place to explore light, focus on the shoot, and have fun! Here is what Darrin said about his time with us: “The whole intent was to try out FD Photo Studio, use the wonderful ambient light, and create some images focusing on the tattoos and beauty of Alicia. Everything was done with at most one light or modifier and light adjustments in Photoshop.” Darrin Bourgeois has a dense portfolio touching on different types of photography, his company goes by the name of Deaftoneimaging. Take a look at his WEBSITE for more of his work. Santa Ana based model Alicia Diaz can be reached through her INSTAGRAM. Stage C offers more than 2,400 square feet of open space with 19ft Cyc Wall. The sprawling studio is great for natural light, with east and south-facing windows. We are capable of blocking off the windows during the day, offering a great place to use studio lighting as well. Herb Ritts Inspired Shoot by Walter Perez

Walter Perez and his team were able to make some eloquent black and white images using Stage B.

Here is some information about Walter, and his experience at FD Photo Studio: “My name is Walter Perez, born and raised in East Los Angeles. I am a Director, producer, writer, actor and occasional photographer. On November 10, 2014, I had the chance to set-up a photography session at FD Photo Studio in Downtown Los Angeles. The five models who formed part of the session; Kim Mahair, Sarah A. Hess, Annalisa Guidone, Liana Bassior and Inna Dobra. Each session showcased a theme inspired by the photography works of Herb Ritts. The session consisted of Film and Digital shots. You can view our selection via Behance.” Perez is a multifaceted artist with a great vision. Stage B sizes up to about 850 square feet, a great size for a nice intimate shoot. The walls and ceiling are all black, and the one bank of east-facing windows can be blocked out, giving the photographer complete control over the lighting. Take a closer look at Stage B HERE.

Kathryn Page in Stage A

Kathryn Page was in Stage A making some beautiful atmospheric photos with talented young model Mikalah Sultan. Here are some words from Kathryn about the shoot: “This was a fun and exciting shoot. I love making connections to time and sharing moments via my photographs. And I’ve made it my life’s goal to be as creative and authentic as possible towards everything I do, and bring that to the people I work with as well. This project was special to me because we were building model Mikalah with Two Management book. As such a young model, she has so much talent and passion. We got to play and create a world in the FD studio that day. A world that allowed Mikalah to be truly herself and authentic with her new journey. Personally I loved this shoot for the light. It was the perfect mixture of soft and harsh and we were really able to move about the studio. My stylist Kelly Smith pulled some amazing clothes from Free People’s Movement line and truly captured to feel we were going for.” Kathryn Page is a photographer currently residing in Los Angeles; specializing in fashion, commercial, and travel. The talent for the shoot was Mikalah Sultan, who has quite the portfolio to show on Two Management’s WEBSITE. Stylist for the day was fashion-veteran Kelly Smith. Kelly has a website with her work and information HERE. Kelly was able to harness the potential of a daylight shoot in Stage A, moving about and easily changing the feeling and aesthetic of the lighting. Stage A has beautiful walls and windows that give the photographer’s images a clean and interesting setting, and offers a lot of diversity depending on how the light is manipulated. BTS with Fleet Collection

Los Angeles based clothing company Fleet Collection was in Stage C shooting a lookbook, and provided us with a great glimpse behind the scenes. This is what they had to say about their experience with us: “We recently shot our lookbook for Fleet Collection’s FW14 lookbook at FD Photo Studio and could not be happier with the experience. Fleet Collection is a vintage inspired clothing line based in Los Angeles, and we were looking for a stark yet versatile space to really highlight our designs. The photos turned out amazing and we can’t wait to come back for the next round of shooting.”

The team took full advantage of the versatility of Stage C, and used natural light for their shoot. Stage C is also one of three FD Studios featuring a large cyclorama wall. Green Ray Productions Product Photography

Manuel Branaa was in the studio shooting some great images of film gear. Branaa has a production and rental business for film called Green Ray Productions. Manuel, and his business partner Roque S. Gonzalez, shot pictures of their camera gear at FD Photo Studio. The pictures from the shoot can also be found on the company’s WEBSITE, along with a sample of their impressive cinematography work. They offer rentals for some awesome video gear, and a wide range of lenses. Branaa’s personal WEBSITE, featuring some of his cinematography and photography work, is also worth the jump!

The images were created in Stage B. One of six studios at FD, Stage B is a unique space that is completely blacked-out. It offers a great place to control your lighting and ward off unwanted light-pollution. Lookbook for Long Clothing

Long Clothing was recently in Stage A shooting a lookbook, showcasing some of their clothing. They had an interesting concept that worked harmoniously with their spry apparel designs. Mandee Bence and Jason Blake were the talents for the series, and Salina Beltran was responsible for the styling. Stage A is a clean, high-key space with windows on the north and east facing walls. Ben Lozano Jr in Stage A

Recently, we had Ben Lozano, Jr was in the studio making these photos. He did a great job in Stage A, mixing natural light with artificial light, creating a great balance and some images that really pop. Ben has this to say about himself: “I’m a photographer based in the San Gabriel Valley, just outside of Los Angeles. I have shot and shoot models, kids, weddings, and sports… Pretty much a little of everything. I love photography, shooting indoor, outdoor, and am always up for a new photo-related challenge.” More info about Mr. Lozano can be found on his FACEBOOK page. The ever-popular Stage A was used for this shoot. This studio space features large windows that let in plenty of daylight, offering lots of natural light for your photos or video.
