New Red Drapes for Valentine’s Day Photography

Theatre-inspired red drapes give this studio a strong romantic feel that works well for Valentine’s Day photo and video shoots in Los Angeles. It’s an easy setup for couples, fashion, editorial work, and social media content, and it also suits boudoir and personal portraits perfectly.

Adding a mattress with silky red bed sheets makes the space feel more relaxed and natural. It gives a model somewhere to sit, stretch out, or move around for better, less posed moments. The drapes are 25 feet wide and 20 feet long, so there’s plenty of room for full-body shots and even group photos.

Soft pink Valentine’s accents in the lounge area give you another spot to shoot without leaving one Sunny Loft studio. You can move between bold red drapes and lighter pink looks during one studio rental. Great variety of backdrops without renting multiple studios or spending time on building your own sets.

Studio Features

Sunny Loft is filled with light throughout the whole day. Nine west-facing windows bring in beautiful sunset light during the afternoon hours. Window AC unit helps to keep the room cool.

The white walls bounce light around the room, creating soft, flattering light for portraits. Polished concrete floors reflect light back up, which helps fill in shadows naturally. This setup works especially well for Valentine’s Day shoots where you want soft, romantic lighting without harsh shadows.

Sunny Loft includes a mix of lounge furniture, such as pink fabric and leather couches, a pair of white lounge chairs, a blue accent chair, a glass coffee table, a rug that works well as a centerpiece, and a full-size mirror. All furniture can be moved and arranged to fit your shoot. Two movable boards with white and black sides are also available for backdrop options or for blocking window light when needed.

The separate changing room helps keep the main shooting area clear while giving clients a comfortable space to change outfits. A well-lit vanity mirror is included for quick makeup touch-ups, which is especially helpful when you’re shooting multiple looks in one session.

What’s Included

Sunny Loft comes with all of FD Photo Studio’s standard light and grip equipment. This includes three Alien Bees B800 strobe lights, light modifiers, C-stands with arms, wireless trigger and receiver, utility cart, sand bags, A-clamps and floor fans. Basic equipment is included with the studio rental for no extra cost.

Aputure LS 60x Focusing Light: $25 per booking. Gives you control over where light hits, perfect for highlighting specific details.
Aputure Spotlight Mini Zoom: $15 per booking. Creates a circular light effect when attached to the Aputure LS 60x Focusing Light. Comes with gobo masks for projecting patterns.

A full Aputure spotlight setup is available for $40 per booking. Please ask our team to add it to your reservation. Keep in mind that this equipment needs to be set up and packed away during your photo studio rental session, so be sure to allow time for that in your booking.

These add-ons let you create more dramatic or editorial looks beyond what the natural light gives you.

The red drapes and natural light work beautifully for Valentine’s Day couples portraits. Position your model near the windows to capture the downtown LA skyline in the background, or use the red drapes as a solid romantic backdrop.
