Rachel Ashley Johnson at Hill 1

Updated February 2026 Great work by the creative duo of the model Rachel Ashley Johnson and her photographer Michael Kluch.

Shooting on a bed setup requires thinking about angles differently than standing portraits. Get up high and shoot down for flattering overhead shots, or go low and shoot across the bed at eye level for more intimate framing. The bed itself gives your subject something to interact with naturally – leaning back on hands, lying on their side, sitting with legs tucked – which beats awkwardly posing in empty space.

The bed scene style shown here works well for fashion, lifestyle, or beauty work, but make sure everyone’s clear on the concept before shooting starts to avoid any awkward surprises about how intimate or casual the poses will be.
