Studio Astoria 3
Finding the right studio for a spring shoot in New York takes more work than it should. You want soft light, fresh colors, and a backdrop that actually feels like the season, but outdoor locations come with crowds, permits, and weather that changes by the hour. A studio with built-in spring decor removes all of that from the equation. You walk in, the set is ready, and you start shooting right away.
FD Photo Studio offers five studios in Astoria, Queens, and Long Island City that are a natural fit for spring shoots.
Outdoor spring shoots in New York look great on a mood board. On the day, you’re dealing with crowds in Central Park, noise, permits, and light that shifts every 20 minutes. A studio with the right decor and light means you skip all of that and get straight to work.
You also get full lighting control. Every FD studio comes with three flash units included at no extra charge, so if the window light is too harsh at noon, you can balance it without renting anything. If you want to shoot at 8 PM, you’re not losing the light. That kind of control is hard to get outside. No need to haul your own gear either: lights, modifiers, c-stands, sandbags, and v-flats are all included. Check the FD equipment list for everything available at the studio.
All five studios are self-check-in, 100% private, and require no permits or insurance. You don’t need to bring your own gear, because three flash units, wireless triggers and receivers, c-stands, sandbags, v-flats, a makeup station with mirrors and seating, music speakers, and free WiFi are included with every rental. Seamless paper backdrops are available for an additional price: $29.99 for up to 6 feet on the floor, $59.99 for more than 6 feet, or $75 for a full 36-foot roll. The FD equipment list has everything, both included items and rentable gear, so you know exactly what to expect before you arrive.
The 4, 8, and 12-hour discounted packages give you better rates than booking single hours. Package hours never expire and can be split across different studio rentals, so you can shoot for 2 hours this week and pick up where you left off next time.
For spring shoots that call for an elegant, romantic look, the White French Loft studio Astoria 1 is a go-to. It’s a daylight photo studio with North-East windows, Baroque-style furniture, and a floral trellis prop in Astoria, Queens.

This studio’s rates start at $39.99/hour.
The most spring-ready studio in the Astoria location is the Pink and Flower studio Astoria 3. It’s a daylight photo studio with pink and lilac walls, flower arrangements, and a white prop piano in Astoria, Queens.
