Man Cave Photo Studio for Rent in Los Angeles

Some photoshoot need a completely different energy, something darker, moodier, and more cinematic with a concept that needs an industrial, lived-in space. Setting dressing and props just to get the look you actually wanted costs you time and money you didn’t budget for.

The Man Cave studio Loft 4 in Downtown Los Angeles skips all of that. It comes fully dressed, dark, cinematic, and ready to shoot. And no, it is not just for male photoshoots. Female models shoot here a lot. The space works for anyone who wants a dark, editorial, cinematic backdrop.

Man Cave Photo Studio with RGB Screen and Pool Table

You walk in and see a moody man cave: pool table, leather chairs, a leather couch, blackout curtains, and a 16.5 x 8.5 ft digital screen. This is the Man Cave studio (LA Loft 4), located at 656 S Los Angeles Street, Unit 900, Los Angeles, CA 90014.

Blackout curtains cover the windows, so you control the light inside at any time of day. The digital screen connects to a studio laptop that comes with the rental. Load any photo or video file and the screen plays it as a live, changing background behind your subject.

Two LED panels on light stands are included with the rental. Changing area is also available in the studio.

How the Digital RGB Screen Works

The standout feature is the digital screen: 16.5 ft wide and 8.5 ft tall. That’s not a backdrop roll or a printed flat. It’s a real display that runs whatever image or video you load onto it.

The screen runs off the studio’s in-house laptop. Pull any photo or video file from the internet and display it on the screen, or bring your own content on a Windows-compatible hard drive.

Think of a subject standing in front of a glowing cityscape at night, a neon tunnel, a sunset over the ocean, or your client’s brand visuals playing on loop behind them. The screen shifts the entire feel of the shot without moving a single piece of furniture.

For video work, it’s a clean solution too. Load a looping background clip, and your subject is instantly placed in a different environment. No green screen, no compositing in post.

What You Can Shoot Here

The name says “man cave” but the space works for a wide range of subjects and concepts. Female models, couples, musicians, athletes, content creators, and full production teams all rent it. The industrial setting and the digital screen give you tools that translate across many creative directions.

Portraits

Male models, fitness athletes, musicians, and content creators use it for portrait shoots and social media content. The dark, high-contrast look works especially well for editorial and streetwear, and the screen background means you’re not limited to what the room already looks like.

Fashion photoshoots

Lifestyle and fashion photographers use this room for editorial and location-style shots. A model with a city skyline on the screen behind them reads as a location photo, not a studio shot. A model in streetwear under the RGB color wash looks like an editorial setup that would otherwise need a full production team.

Content creation

Content creators who shoot for social media use the studio to batch multiple looks in one rental. Swap the background on screen, change outfits, shoot again. The blackout curtains mean your light stays consistent between setups, so your color grading stays tight across the whole set.

Video production

Musicians and performers use the screen for music video content. Load a looping visual that matches the mood of a track and shoot performance footage in front of it. The RGB wall adds a second color source for more dynamic lighting setups.

Videographers use it for short-form branded content, interviews with stylized backgrounds, and product videos where the setting matters as much as the product.

Equipment at Man Cave studio

Included with the rental are 2 LED panels with light stands, the studio laptop connected to the RGB screen, access to the RGB wall, blackout curtains, a makeup station with mirrors and seating and free WiFi.

A fog machine is available for rent. For additional equipment for rent, check the full list on the FD Photo Studio equipment page.
